This page has been created to provide an update of what businesses and industries are doing in Trumann in response to the COVID-19 virus pandemic. It also provides access to information about the Governor’s and AR Dept. of Health directives governing operation during this health crisis. There also are links to state and federal assistance as they are appropriated and implemented. It will be regularly updated as information is provided to the chamber.

Effective 3/23/2020 by order of the AR Dept. of Health, these are mandated:
.Barbers, Cosmetology shops, Body Art Schools, Body Art (Tattoo) Shops, Medical Spas, and Massage Therapay Clinics/Spas must close effective 12 PM, March 25, 2020.

.Effective 3/19/2020 by order of the Governor, these are mandated:
.All bars & restaurants are closed to dine-in and only open for carry-out, drive-through and delivery services.
.All public schools are closed until April 17, 2020 (expanded through May 22).
.Do not visit nursing homes or long term care facilities unless you specifically are providing critical services.
.Businesses are to move to telecommuting and to remote work where and when possible.
.Recommendations, not mandates yet:
.Churches and social organizations are encouraged (not required yet) to cancel services where large numbers of people would normally be congregating.
.Senior citizens are encouraged to isolate themselves through social distancing, not attend large gatherings, and generally stay away from others to protect themselves as they are the most vulnerable group in our population.
.You are strongly discouraged from visiting your healthcare provider unless absolutely necessary. You should call for instructions from your provider rather than visiting.
.If you are in contact with someone who has COVID-19 you should self-quarantine for 14 days and then if you show symptoms contact your healthcare provider.
.Don’t make unnecessary trips (shopping). Try to avoid other people to prevent the spread of the virus. You may grocery shop but should socially distance yourself from other people.
.Effective 3/19/2020:
.Walmart’s hours are 7 AM – 8:30 PM. Special Senior Citizen shopping hours are 6 – 7 AM Tuesdays.
.How businesses/industries are modifying their hours, services, etc. to ensure the safety of their employees and the public:
.Many businesses are open and practicing social distancing, wearing masks, and sanitizing often. Call ahead to check their hours and procedures.
.Trumann Animal Clinic is asking customers to call ahead for instructions. Staff are meeting customers at their vehicles, taking their pets inside for treatment, and then returning the pets outside to their families – no visitors inside the clinic.
.St. Bernard’s Health Care Trumann is asking patients to call ahead for instructions rather than physically coming to the clinic.
.NEA Baptist Clinic is screening every patient, visitor, and employee entering the facility. Appropriate responses are being taken depending on the condition of each visitor.
.Trumann Public Schools (and all AR schools) has suspended classes for the rest of the 2020 school year. During that time they are doing a thorough and complete cleaning and disinfecting of the entire district. They have implemented a student feeding program with food pickup available.
.The City of Trumann offices have closed their lobbies to visitors and are serving the public through the telephone, email, and with limited appointments only when necessary. Public Works is taking payments through their night drop-box, by telephone and online.
.The Trumann Chamber of Commerce has closed to public access and is serving members and visitors over the telephone, through email, and social media with limited appointments only as necessary. The annual chamber Disc Golf Tournament, April 2, has been canceled, as well as the Honor Graduate Reception (at baccalaureate).
.Country Mart’s is constantly sanitizing all door handles throughout the store. Their hours are 7 AM – 8 PM.
.Families Inc. is checking the temperature of every visitor, screening every patient, cleaning the facilities regularly, and not seeing anyone with fever or who is ill. Some patients are being seen in their homes rather than in the clinic.
.Trumann District Court has modified its schedule and rescheduled many cases. Call for instructions at 870/483-7771.
.The Bilco Company has closed its lobby to visitors and has restricting entrance by appointment only.
.Community Title and Escrow has implemented a stringent cleaning schedule and is using new, sanitary ink pens during closings, seating customers at appropriate distances apart, and then discarding the used pens at the end of the closing.
.Alabaster Box Street Market is doing hourly cleanings of the store and is disinfecting the lobby area every half hour.
.EA Sports Management has suspended all softball and baseball tournaments in our sports complex until further notice.
.Sonic is operating as usual in that they are a drive-in and take-out format.
.The Daily Dose Pharmacy has indicated they will remain open to serve the community as needed.
.Round One Sports Bar & Grill has closed until further notice.
.Al’s BBQ is serving the public only through their drive-up window.
.Jerry’s Steakhouse is open and providing take-out service.
.Checker’s Pizza is open and providing take-out and delivery services.
.Urban Runway (clothing, tanning, beauty salon) are sanitizing all door handles, card readers, cash register, salon areas, tanning beds, and bathroom hourly or after each client use – and praying over everything. The beauty salon is closed until further notice.
